New York State Independent Contractor Guidelines
The New York State Department of Labor has released new independent contractor guidelines for companies operating in the state. These guidelines for the first time set very specific criteria for determining driver status. The New York State Messenger Courier Association in conjunction with the MCAA played a vital role in the negotiations with officials from New York. We thank all those in both organizations that helped make this landmark agreement possible.
